THE HEART BEHIND BE STILL BAKERY
The name Be Still Bakery comes from a very personal place in my own life— like when our whole family was diagnosed with celiac disease.
To "be still" meant trusting that there was a purpose in the pause. It meant finding peace in the unknown and leaning into creativity to build something new. Be Still Bakery is a reflection of that journey. It's about creating a space of comfort, where people-especially those with dietary needs- can feel seen, included and cared for.
HOW OUR STORY BEGAN
Be Still Bakery began with a 15-year-old girl who just wanted to eat a cinnamon roll.
At 15, I was diagnosed with celiac disease, and overnight, everything changed. Suddenly, the baked goods I had grown up loving were off-limits. Grocery store sweets didn’t cut it—they were either too dry, too gritty, or filled with ingredients I couldn’t even pronounce. Every birthday, every holiday, every coffee date with friends became a little more complicated.
But I’ve always believed that food is more than fuel. It’s comfort. It’s connection. It’s celebration.
So, I started baking.
I experimented for years in my kitchen, determined to recreate the textures and flavors I missed so much—especially cinnamon rolls. Eventually, I stopped trying to copy the “gluten version” and started creating something that stood on its own: rich, gooey, soft, and 100% gluten-free.
And that’s how Be Still Bakery was born.
Today, we share those same sweets at our local farmers market—cozy, nostalgic treats that just happen to be gluten-free. Each batch is made by hand, with simple ingredients and a whole lot of heart. Whether you're gluten-free, celiac like me, or just here for a treat that tastes like home, you’re always welcome at our table.
Be Still Bakery is for every family learning a new way to gather, and a reminder to slow down and savor the sweet, still moments.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
